Funny Little Beings

©️ 2026 Shelly Moore

..

We wear our lives upon our skin

in wrinkles, lines, and scars.

We display our very sense of worth

in our clothes, our style, our cars.

.

For some the scales are unbalanced—

too much weight on either side.

Some neglect their inner landscape

for an inflated sense of pride.

.

The yang to this yin, of course,

are the ones who think too much.

Physical appearance left to rot—

while the mind becomes their crutch.

.

Somewhere between the mirror and the mind,

there’s a balanced way to be.

Where neither body nor the brain

must earn its right to breathe.
