Hear Me Out, Guillermo del Toro: An Entirely Unsolicited Horror Film Proposal 🤓🫣

Hear me out—

Apparently, I’ve decided that publishing my first horror collection isn’t quite ambitious enough.

So I’ve launched The GDT Files: a wildly optimistic, entirely unsolicited attempt to convince Guillermo del Toro to consider bringing my strange little stories to the screen.

Does he know about this? No.

Have I prepared a presentation anyway? Naturally.

I’ve been left unsupervised and I’d rather not fold laundry.

Listen. The timing feels particularly kismet. Pan’s Labyrinth, the film that helped shape my love for dark, emotionally complicated storytelling, celebrates its twentieth anniversary *this month.*

Meanwhile, my own collection, A Heaping Handful of Horror, also arrives *this month.* October 23rd.

I’ve also just received my first bookstore confirmation that my book will be stocked on their shelves.

My book… in bookstores near you. Soon. 🥂

So between the excitement, the nerves, and the utterly unreasonable creative ambitions, morale remains inexplicably high.

I’m a mom in sweatpants with a passion.

I mean.

Crazier things have happened…

Let a girl dream!

Oh, and ps.

If you haven’t added my author page on Instagram yet, would you be so kind? I’m trying to grow it. 🖤

It looks like this:

Alright. Here we go. Buckle up, buttercup. ➡️ ➡️

Well, that was fun.

Now we wait. 🫣

In the meantime, buy my book, maybe?
